Dog day care for working owners in Yeovil: planning drop-off and collection

3 min read

For a working owner, a day-care booking needs to fit both the dog and the working day. The practical details matter: who brings the dog, when collection is agreed, how the team can contact you, and what happens if your plans change.

Paws n Klaws provides dog day care near Yeovil at our five-star licensed countryside facility. Dogs have supervised indoor and outdoor activity and separate spaces for rest. New clients should arrange a free Meet & Greet so suitability and the next booking steps can be discussed before starting care.

Work backwards from the agreed collection time

Include the journey from work, any school collection and the time needed for a handover. Site opening hours are Monday–Sunday, 07:00–18:00, but your actual drop-off and collection arrangements need to be confirmed with the team.

Do not treat general opening hours as permission to arrive at any time. Ask which handover windows apply to your booking and whether any collection or drop-off service is available for your location and date.

Decide who is responsible for each journey

If two adults share the arrangements, agree who is bringing the dog and who is collecting. Make sure the team has the relevant details for any authorised collection person and that both adults know the confirmed booking.

A simple shared diary entry can include the service, date, handover arrangements and any items being brought. This reduces the chance of one person assuming the other has already made a request.

Make the care profile useful

Keep your dog's details current in the client portal. Include feeding instructions where needed, health information, an emergency contact and anything that has changed since the previous visit. Tell the team about changes before arrival rather than relying on a hurried conversation at the gate.

If your working day makes you difficult to reach, explain the best contact method and provide an appropriate backup contact. Ask how updates and urgent questions are handled while your dog is in care.

Choose the booking arrangement around real attendance

Think about the days you actually need, including hybrid working, holidays and changing shifts. Compare current regular-care options with ad-hoc bookings on the day-care service page, and check availability before relying on a particular pattern.

Avoid choosing a plan solely because its headline price looks attractive. Check the full terms, how bookings are confirmed, what happens when a date changes, and whether any additional service charges apply.

Plan for a delayed day

Before the first booking, ask whom to contact if you are delayed and how quickly the team needs to know. Keep the office number handy: 01935 348843. Office hours are Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00; discuss how to make contact outside those office hours when arranging care.

Agree a backup collection plan where possible. A clear plan is more useful than expecting the team to infer that a train, meeting or traffic delay has changed your arrangements.

Working-owner questions

Can a booking be assumed from my usual attendance?

Only confirmed arrangements should be relied upon. Check how your agreed booking pattern works and request changes through the current process.

What should a new client do first?
