When you look for dog boarding near Yeovil, you want to know more than where your dog will sleep. What will their day feel like? Will they have company, space to explore and time to relax?

At Paws n Klaws, we offer social boarding with a home-from-home feel on a larger scale. Our spacious site gives dogs room to play, socialise and rest throughout the day under staff supervision, before settling into their overnight accommodation.

A different approach to boarding kennels

If your picture of boarding is a dog spending most of the day in an individual kennel, our social dog hotel takes a different approach. Daytime care is part of the stay: suitable dogs spend their days enjoying supervised activities, companionship and downtime.

The room is one part of the experience. Just as a good day at home includes both activity and a snooze, a day here includes opportunities to explore, spend time with other dogs and take a break.

Boarding providers vary, so ask any provider to explain their daily routine. At Paws n Klaws, social daytime care is central to what we do.

A home-from-home feel, with space to be a dog

Our 5-star licensed dog hotel is based at Three Acres on Limington Road, near Yeovil in Somerset. Across our approximately three-acre site, secure indoor and outdoor facilities provide dedicated areas for activity, socialising and rest, alongside overnight accommodation.

“Home from home” describes the atmosphere and approach to care. This is a dedicated dog boarding and daycare setting with room for a sociable day, familiar routines and human company.

That larger setting lets us bring play, social time and rest together in one place. It is the balance between those things that matters, rather than keeping dogs busy every minute.

Supervised social time and proper rest

We manage social groups around temperament, behaviour, size, play style, energy levels and compatibility. The Meet & Greet and our ongoing observations help us decide which dogs are suited to spending time together, with staff supervising their daytime care.

Dogs have different personalities, energy levels and ways of enjoying company. Some enjoy lively play; others prefer a quieter pace. Indoor and outdoor social time is balanced with restful breaks, so a dog can enjoy company without having to keep playing.

Our guide to a day at the dog hotel explains how play, socialising and downtime fit together.

Is social boarding right for your dog?

A successful, pre-booked Meet & Greet is required before a new dog boards with us. It gives us a chance to meet your dog, discuss their needs and consider whether our social environment is a suitable fit.

Tell us about their usual routine, experience around other dogs and any support they may need. Please discuss medication or additional care requirements before booking, so we can confirm what we can accommodate.

Read our first-visit Meet & Greet guide to prepare. We do not accept unneutered male dogs over 12 months old for day care, hotel/boarding or group walks; check the FAQs for entry requirements.

What happens overnight?

After a day of supervised care, dogs settle into their overnight rooms. Dogs from the same household may share where appropriate and agreed with the team.

The social part of the stay is about how dogs spend their day, alongside suitable sleeping accommodation at night. You can explore the facilities and current arrangements on our dog boarding and hotel page.

Social boarding FAQs

Does the boarding price include daytime care?

Yes. Our standard boarding rate is £59 per night, including daytime care. See the boarding page for current stay discounts, collection options and charges.

Do dogs play all day without a break?

No. Their day includes supervised play and social time alongside rest. A balanced stay gives dogs opportunities to relax as well as be active.

Can I book before my dog has visited?

New dogs need a successful Meet & Greet before boarding. Start with that appointment and speak to us about your proposed dates.

Plan your dog's first stay

Book your free Meet & Greet online. Choose an available weekday appointment and complete the required acknowledgements. Email your current vaccination record, including kennel cough, beforehand or show it on arrival. The Meet & Greet cannot go ahead unless the record has been provided and checked. Ongoing care is subject to suitability and availability.

Planning a longer break? Our long-stay boarding guide covers holiday preparation. You can also call 01935 348843 to discuss your dog's needs and check availability.
